The Selcom high-speed RoLine 1130 sensor for pavement profiling from LMI Technologies features laser line sensing for profiling all pavement geometries at any vehicle speed. Developed to improve the accuracy of pavement profiling for coarse textured surfaces, the RoLine 1130 offers increased frame rates and higher data density to meet the needs of high-speed profilers. Suitable for concrete and asphalt surfaces, the sensor operates with two data output modes: full profile data or an optional output reducing the profile to a single point output representing the surface location. Vision components such as lighting, cameras, embedded sensor processors, and machine-vision software can be integrated into a scalable machine-vision system.

As ground vehicles employ more electronic sensing, control and communication systems, design engineers are increasingly utilizing more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. Though COTS slashes development time and costs, it’s still difficult for many military users to find COTS boards that meet their low-volume demands for ruggedization and redundancy.
