NYLOK PRECOTE 85 Bolts for PR Jan09.jpg

Nylok's turquoise Precote 85 is a high-strength preapplied fastener adhesive that offers controlled torque and vibration resistance under high-temperature applications. Suitable for use in the automotive and aerospace industries, the adhesive can be applied on screws, studs, and nonstandard parts, as well as threaded plugs and pipe threads. It is resistant to temperatures up to 390ºF (200ºC). Precote 85 provides locking for automotive applications such as powertrain and other high-stressed threaded bolts with controlled friction. Maximum strength is achieved within six hours at room temperature, and there is no uncontrolled post curing, even after repeated temperature exposure. Precote 85 saves manufacturing labor costs by eliminating additional locking devices and the need for messy, inconsistent in-house application of adhesives. The adhesive has been approved at General Motors to meet GM-6175M and GM-6194M test specifications.
