Libero Integrated Design Environment version 8.5 software design tool from Actel Corp. supports nano versions of IGLOO and ProASIC3 field programmable gate arrays and helps with instantiation and configuration of embedded mathblocks for use in the company's radiation-tolerant RTAX-DSP FPGAs. The 18 bit x 18 bit mathblock can be implemented with SmartDesign or user HDL. Mathblocks can be managed through standard synthesis, simulation, and layout flows. The embedded radiation-tolerant digital signal processor  mathblock supports simple signed 18 x 18 multiply, dual signed 9 x 9 multiply, multiply plus accumulate, and cascaded multiply applications, enabling efficient implementation of DSP structures such as finite impulse response, infinite impulse response digital filters, fast Fourier transforms and inverse Fourier transforms, discrete cosine transforms, correlators, and digital IF up/down converters.
