The rugged, waterproof, and glove-friendly FC-2500 field controller from Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) features a 5.17-megapixel camera and alphanumeric keyboard plus an eight-way joystick button to control the robotic systems. Improved speed, storage, memory, and a 624-MHz XScale processor improve data collection. A photo notes section allows comments to be stored with every shot taken using the onboard digital camera, and an add-on connection for a spread spectrum radio allows communication with TPS’ robotic total stations. The FC-2500 is waterproof and shock-resistant. Other features include USB flash drive and 50 h battery life.
