Fanuc GE's Manual Guide i shop floor programming software features a Workpiece Setting Error Measurement function that enhances efficiency and quality when milling parallelopipeds. When the workpieces are placed on the rotary table, they are often slightly displaced from the ideal position, typically requiring positioning measurements and complex calculations for inclusion in a revised part program. If the function is implemented in the machine tool, the operator can program this cycle on the shop floor. The software automatically computes the differences between the original workpiece coordinate system and the tilted workpiece coordinate system. The results are presented to the operator via a table on the screen, with a reference number for each error. The operator can then simply call these reference numbers into the part program and the workpiece is automatically adjusted.
