Sandvik Coromant has opened a Productivity Center in Schaumburg, IL. Designed to help manufacturers improve their metal-cutting operations, the facility opened to the public Nov. 12. It is among four Sandvik Coromant productivity centers in North America. Other centers are located in Fair Lawn, NJ; Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; and Monterey, Mexico. The center will be used to present customers and distributors with live demonstrations, seminars, and advanced theory-based training courses. It includes classrooms, meeting areas, a tooling showroom, and a dedicated machining floor with machine tools from Deckel Maho, Gildemeister, Haas, Mazak, Mori Seiki, and Okuma.
