Deere & Co. said it has acquired full ownership of ReGen Technologies Inc., a remanufacturing company located in Springfield, MO. Deere had already owned 50% of the business. The operations will be more fully integrated with remanufacturing operations in Edmonton, Canada, and the overall name of the business will be John Deere Reman. Deere also recently announced plans to form a joint venture with Ashok Leyland Ltd. to initially manufacture and market backhoes and four-wheel-drive loaders that will be sold in India and exported to other markets. Initial production is planned for early 2010. The joint venture will build a manufacturing facility in India and is currently evaluating site locations.
