Cantec Systems’ Can-Crank 12- and 24-V EDLC (electrochemical dual layer capacitor) super capacitors are available in several sizes for assisting all engine starting needs. The devices are suitable for engine cranking, accessory laden, parasitic load, cold temperature, and depleted battery vehicles in the off-highway industry, cranking an engine to higher RPMs more quickly than batteries and fully rechargeable in less than 10 sec. Benefits include reduced downtime and improved component service life. Models range from 200 to 600 hp (150 to 450 kW) with an operating range of -45 to +50°C (-49 to +122°F), and Can-Crank can be used with any internal combustion engine.
