The MLX71122 receiver IC from Melexis is designed for applications in the unlicensed industrial/scientific/medical and short-range-devices frequency bands of 300 to 930 MHz. The system's programmable PLL enables addressing all sub-bands of the European 863-870 MHz band via software. Even large frequency jumps across regionally different bands are possible without changing the RF hardware. The 32-lead QFN packaged device has a 5 x 5 mm (0.2 x 0.2 in) footprint and requires no bulky external components. Applications include automatic meter reading, RF remote control, automotive keyless entry, and tire pressure monitoring systems.
