Tyco Electronics' squib connectors for airbags include Universal Squib (nonserviceable) and varying pitch sizes such as 7.9 mm (0.3 in) and 10 mm (0.4 in) for sealed and unsealed applications. The AKI squib devices are based on the Micro Quadlock Terminal System. The connectors are compatible with varying connection depths on the short circuit ring as well as varying connector geometries. The connector position assurance device is compatible with one-step assembly. Applications include driver, passenger, and side airbags and curtains as well as active headrests and seat belt pretensioners.
