The 800 Series from Perkins is a family of naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-cylinder engines tailored to the medium-duty 47-62-kW (63-83-hp) off-highway equipment sector. Ooffering a capacity of 3.3 L, the 800D range increases power by 4% and torque by 5%, and offers noise refinements of over 2 dB(A) through quieter combustion and a redesigned geartrain. A stiffer timing case further reduces noise and vibration. The series features ease of changeover, an increase in top tank temperature to minimize impact on heat rejection and to improve installation, and 500-h service intervals. Other enhancements improve fuel consumption, engine response, low-speed performance, and machine driveability. A strengthened cast-iron cylinder offers rigidity and long life.
