A tunable piston hydraulic spring/shock absorber suspension design from Parker Hannifin enables heavy-duty manufacturers to incorporate a fully active suspension into their equipment. Operators can change suspension dynamics through an electronic interface to fit load conditions and type of terrain, from hard pavement to sand, gravel, and cross-country. Typically, the spring/shock absorber falls within a standard footprint of 3 to 4.5 in (76 to 114 mm) with a 12-in (305-mm) body. Cylinder and accumulator technologies integrate into a compact piston design with a leak-free 5000-psi (345-bar) nitrogen chamber. Features include 1-hp (0.75-kW) operation, higher ground speeds, improved cornering and ride leveling, reduced rollover, and increased productivity.
