The redesigned, compact Temposonics MT sensor from MTS Systems offers a diameter of 48 mm (1.9 in), reduced from 58 mm (2.3 in), and is a magnetostrictive position sensor designed to be embedded in welded and tiered-style cylinders or any space-limited application. Redundant outputs are generated by two electrically independent sensors in a common mechanical housing. Each system is comprised of an independent sensor element and evaluation electronics with separate output signal and supply voltage electronics. The two sensor elements are housed in a pressure-resistant stainless steel pipe for installation in hydraulic cylinders. Features include accurate cylinder position feedback, a measuring range of 50 to 1500 mm (2 to 60 in), and an operating temperature range of -40 to +105°C (-40 to +221°F).
