BAE Systems announced a five-year, $58.4 million facility expansion project to consolidate its current facilities and increase the company’s presence in the Sterling Heights, MI, area. BAE Systems will immediately begin hiring approximately 460 new engineering and high-technology personnel, and continue through the next five years. Currently, BAE Systems operates two facilities in Sterling Heights and will initiate actions to convert an existing large industrial property in Sterling Heights into a prototyping and test facility. Once complete in 2012, all BAE Systems personnel and operations will be consolidated from three locations into this one facility.
