Daimler unloads exhaust business

The Eberspaecher Group, a supplier of automotive exhaust systems, has acquired Purem, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler, based in Unna, Germany. Purem has 135 employees and specializes in medium- and heavy-duty truck exhaust aftertreatment systems and exhaust system integration. The merger will enable Eberspaecher to strengthen its product offerings to an international customer base that already includes most major manufacturers in Europe, North America, Brazil, and India. Financial details of the transaction were not released.
