Chrysler names new head of product planning

Chrysler announced Benjamin Winter is the new NAFTA Head of Product Planning, where he will oversee research and planning of all future vehicles in the North American markeT.

Chrysler recently announced the appointment of Benjamin Winter as the new NAFTA Head of Product Planning. With this appointment, he is also named to the Chrysler Group Leadership Team. The appointment is effective immediately and fills a previously announced personnel move. In his new position, Winter will be accountable for all research and planning of future vehicles in the North American market.

Winter joined Chrysler in 2008 as Chief Engineer–Minivan Segment. Most recently, Winter served as Vice President–Vehicle Engineering, where he oversaw engineering, program execution and the launch of current and future vehicle platform programs.

Winter began his career in 1985 at Ford Motor Co. as a Senior Engineer and held several positions of increasing responsibility in the manufacturing and engineering organizations.

Winter is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, where he holds three degrees—a Master of Business Administration, a Doctorate in Metallurgical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Metallurgical Engineering. He is also a graduate of the University of Missouri–Rolla where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering.
