At ConExpo, Cummins Emission Solutions launched EcoFit Urea Tanks and Lines, designed to offer off-highway customers increased convenience and integration benefits of a fully packaged aftertreatment system for SCR technology. The system is available in two shape orientations.

Cummins Emission Solutions’ EcoFit Urea Tanks and Lines provides a range of urea tanks with header unit assemblies containing intelligence for monitoring and maintaining accurate urea level, temperature, and urea quality, as well as a wide range of urea lines to meet installation needs for many applications and engine platforms.

A key component of EcoFit Urea Tanks is the specialized urea quality sensor, designed to detect and monitor the correct urea liquid composition, allowing the system to function at peak performance. The robust sensing technology has been designed with the required vibration durability to withstand rough terrain environments and steep gradients. Built-in filtration capabilities improve the system’s reliability, capturing any foreign debris that may enter the urea holding chamber.

A range of electrically heated pressure, suction, and throttle line lengths from 0.5 to 3.0 m (1.6 to 9.8 ft) are available, in addition to four initial tank capacities of 5, 10, 15, or 30 gal (19, 38, 57, or 114 L), including two shape orientations.

In particular for the off-highway market, the EcoFit UL2 proprietary design offers reduction of droplet size to as low as 24 micron SMD, promoting improved NOx conversion efficiency for applications lacking onboard air. EcoFit UL2 is said to be the only liquid-only dosing system in the market offering freeze-robustness in its design, and improved reliability, as urea is continually present within the unit to prevent crystallization and clogging.

Easier integration and improved flexibility benefits are obtained via the system’s extended urea transfer line lengths of up to 15 m (49 ft), allowing the distance between the supply and dosing unit to be chosen more freely, without affecting controls technology.
