Miller improves select models in the XMT weld cable control (WCC) multi-process lineup to improve productivity, quality, and safety. Updates to both the XMT 350 WCC and the XMT 450 WCC allow the feeder to recognize polarity and send a message via the weld cable to the power supply, which automatically selects the appropriate wire process based on the connection. The process eliminates extra cabling, prevents welding operators from leaving the work area to change wire, and ensures correct process selection. Operators can set optimal welding parameters at the feeder, spend more time welding, and can change output voltage at the point of use on a jobsite, reducing trips to a power source that is often remote in the construction and shipbuilding industries.
