Adding thermocouple (TC) and analog signal input to the Axiomatic CAN controller line improves flexibility for these rugged I/O controllers. Simulink block libraries allow designers to program the device for specific applications, and the electronic assistant programming tool enables selection of desired inputs from various signal options including engine coolant, fuel and differential pressure sensors, engine temperature sensors, thermistors, and TCs. A rugged power supply interface accepts 12-, 24-, or 48-V dc nominal for battery-powered machine applications. The TC/analog controller is networked to a SAE J1939-based control system, operates from -40 to +85°C (-40 to +185°F), and is suitable for diesel engine environments in applications including power generator set engine control systems, oil and gas equipment automation, marine engine, and off-highway machine automation.
