Donaldson Company, Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of air and liquid filtration systems and replacement parts for engines, is expanding test laboratories at its Bloomington, MN, corporate headquarters. The $10 million expansion is expected to be fully operational in CY2014 and will enhance capabilities to test products in real-world environments, factoring in multiple variables at one time such as temperature, humidity, vibration, pulsation, and flow, as well as various contaminants. This will allow Donaldson’s in-house scientists and engineers to speed development time and decrease costs, while increasing product effectiveness and reliability, the company says. Its products filter engine intake air, fuels, lubricants, crankcase emissions, and hydraulic fluids, and treat engine exhaust by reducing noise and tailpipe emissions.
