Novotechnik introduces RSC3200 series Hall-effect angle sensors designed for use in hash environments and high reliability applications with redundant outputs and immunity to adverse environmental effects. Operating temperature is -40 to +125°C (-40 to +257°F), and the range withstands shock and vibration up to 50 and 20 g and is protected from ingress of dust and humidity to IP69K. Measurement angle of the RSC3200 series is factory programmable for any range maximum between 45° to 360°. Output is 0.25 to 4.75 or 0.5 to 4.5 V, depending on customer preference. Resolution is 12-bit, and repeatability is ±0.5°. Other features include a compact design, high-grade temperature-resistant housing, and a standard D-shaft connector interface. The series is suitable for automotive and off-highway vehicle applications.

As ground vehicles employ more electronic sensing, control and communication systems, design engineers are increasingly utilizing more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. Though COTS slashes development time and costs, it’s still difficult for many military users to find COTS boards that meet their low-volume demands for ruggedization and redundancy.
