The Objet1000 from Objet Ltd., which recently merged with Stratasys, offers precise 3-D printing of very large and very small, finely detailed 3-D models. With a 1000 x 800 x 500 mm (39.4 x 31.5 x 19.7 in) wide-format build envelope, the printer provides a wide range of usages and applications to meet form, fit, and functional verification needs. It simulates standard and ABS-grade engineering plastics. It is suitable for applications that include automotive, defense and aerospace, and industrial machinery, as well as high-end service bureaus that need to create industrial-size 1:1 scale prototypes. According to the company, the printer combines a large and convenient build platform with the advanced precision of inkjet 3-D printing and Objet’s Connex multimaterial capability, all in a single machine.
