Balqon releases the Zevqon line of next-generation electric vehicle motor controllers designed for emerging zero-emission commercial truck and bus markets. Zevqon EV controllers are a complete line of ac inverters ranging in power from 20 to 240 kW (27 to 322 hp) and designed for use in electric vehicles from small utility vehicles to 30 ton (27 t) on-road trucks. The controllers are smaller in size and feature liquid cooling, regenerative braking, and compliance to automotive SAE J1939 CAN bus communication protocol. Zevqon controllers incorporate insulated gate bipolar transistor technology for efficient conversion of battery dc-to-ac voltage with improved diagnostic and configuration capabilities, allowing customization across diverse applications, and controllers are designed for fixed or variable frequency applications from 0 to 400 Hz.
