The OM-CP-PROCESS101A dc current data logger from Omega is a low-cost logger with a 10-year battery life, 4-Hz reading rate, multiple start/stop function, and ultrahigh-speed download. Other features include a reading storage capacity of 1 million, memory wrap, and battery life indicator. Two current input ranges are available: 20 and 160 mA. Free firmware upgrades for the life of the product allow data loggers already deployed to grow with new technological developments; upgrades can be done right from the user’s PC.

Industrial aluminum slabs are typically produced by blending small amounts of copper or manganese in a reservoir of molten aluminum that is rapidly cooled, a process known as direct-chill casting. Variations in the way these elements solidify can yield uneven results that weaken the final product.
