Minnesota Rubber and Plastics combines two components into a single part with a redesigned piston V-cup seal. Used in fuel assembly applications, seals improve life while reducing manufacturing and assembly costs. The original two-part design assembly process was labor-intensive, requiring skillful part handling and placement as well as special testing to achieve seal consistency. The single V-cup seal design simplifies and quickens the assembly process. A fuel-resistant fluoroelastomer material allows the part to withstand the harshness of extended fuels and improves fatigue resistance and compression set. Produced in automated presses, the one-piece design is offered in volume requirements with reduced delivery time as well as improved part quality and repeatability.
