New Holland rolls in with two new wheel loader models

New Holland's 11-ton (10-t) W110C and 12.5-ton (11-t) W130C feature a 4.7-L, four-cylinder and a 6.7-L, six-cylinder high-pressure common rail engine, respectively.

New Holland has expanded its range of Tier 4 Interim compliant products with the addition of two new models to its C Series wheel loader range. The 11-ton (10-t) W110C and 12.5-ton (11-t) W130C feature a 4.7-L, four-cylinder and a 6.7-L, six-cylinder high-pressure common rail engine, respectively.

Both models feature New Holland’s selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology developed by FPT Industrial specifically for construction applications on the basis of the extensive experience they have acquired in low emissions engine technology—and, in particular, in SCR technology since they introduced it on trucks in 2004.

High combustion temperatures result in low fuel consumption and high engine output. In addition, this SCR solution doesn’t require a diesel particulate filter and doesn’t use additional fuel to reduce emissions, further optimizing machine uptime and operation costs. Fuel waste is also reduced to a minimum by the ECOSTOP feature, which automatically shuts down the engine and the electric system after 5 min of idling.

The W110C and W130C offers features that NH says translate into longer service intervals and lower operating costs. The unique cooling box design, with the radiators mounted to form a cube, provides improved cooling in harsh environments. The high cooling efficiency lengthens the life of the cooling liquid by about 500 h, extending it to 1500 h, and improves the machine’s reliability and durability, as it runs on better quality fluid. The radiators are located behind the cab, far from the ground, so that less dust reaches them, and they are easy to clean with the standard reversing fan.

Due to the SCR system, maintenance costs are lower, says NH, because the solution doesn’t require a particulate filter or special oils. Also, temperature in the engine compartment is low, resulting in longer life for the rubber parts and lower cooling needs.

With the engine mounted at the rear of the machine, it is easy to maintain from the ground, and its placement optimizes weight distribution. It also means a smaller counterweight is needed, resulting in a high payload in the bucket, lower stress on the axles, brakes, and tires, and greater machine durability.

Both the W110C and W130C are also available with optional open differentials, which reduce tire wear because there is no wheel slippage. The absence of friction also increases oil life by 50%, extending service intervals to 1500 h.

Optional axles with an open differential feature 100% differential lock on the front axle for applications that require more traction. With this feature, when a wheel slips, the differential automatically locks to transmit 100% of available engine torque to the wheel with traction, resulting in higher productivity for operators.

The heavy-duty front and rear axles on the W110C and W130C are "bigger and stronger than ever," says NH, delivering the traction needed even on the softest soil conditions. The precise control of oil temperature translates into improved reliability in all conditions.
