Video Interview: SCM Metal focuses on lightweight future

Automotive Engineering International spoke with SCM Metal Products’ Tom Pelletiers at the SAE 2012 World Congress about the North Carolina-based company’s next-generation lightweight materials. In this video interview, the Business Manager shares a few of the “significant” improvements gained with its silicon/ceramic-reinforced PM aluminum composites, for example, compared to traditional light metal materials and processes. Current and future production applications are also discussed.
