To reduce continuous noise and vibration, Parflex offers thermoplastic fiber-reinforced hydraulic hoses. Typically, noise traveling through system components exposes the operator to vibrations, resulting in hand numbness and potential nerve damage with long-term exposure. Parflex hoses are able to reduce noise, improve operator handling, and increase safety. The hose is constructed using high-strength fibers, a polymer jacket, and smooth-bore polymer inner cores for chemical compatibility and an improved damping benefit. Fiber-reinforced thermoplastic hose offers a higher volumetric expansion rate than a bore wire-reinforced rubber hose, resulting in a total lower quality factor and a high rate of energy loss relative to the stored energy of the resonator. The low quality factor increases oscillation decay, reducing component noise transmission.
