Kuka Robotics' new KR QUANTEC K shelf-mounted robot generation simplifies automation, according to the company. The units are about 12% lighter, making the new series easier to mount on injection-molding machines. The series features the QUANTEC KR 120 R3900 Ultra. With a mass of 270 kg (595 lb), reach of 2900 mm (114 in), and payload capacity of 120 kg (265 lb), it is the world’s strongest shelf-mounted robot with the highest power density, claims Kuka Robotics. The series also includes the KR QUANTEC K Prime, which is suitable for any application with payloads ranging from 90 to 210 kg (198 to 463 lb).
