ITT Interconnect Solutions’ PHD38999 fiber-optic interconnect is suited for harsh-environment applications. Using a tunable, size-22 fiber-optic termination system, the interconnect is qualified to the M38999 specification, making it suitable for use in demanding defense and aerospace applications including vision systems, flight connectors, and control systems. The device successfully passed comprehensive Design Verification Testing (DVT), including meeting stringent specifications for mating repeatability, temperature cycling, vibration, mechanical shock, humidity, and mating durability. It offers a density of up to 50 channels/in2. DVT results for the units showed less than 0.20 dB change in transmittance after 500 mating and de-mating cycles.
