Changing of the guard in Ford product development

Ford Motor Co.'s top engineer, Derrick Kuzak, has announced his retirement effective April 1. Replacing him in the position of Group Vice President, Global Product Development, will be Raj Nair, who currently serves Ford as Vice President, Engineering, Global Product Development. Nair will report to Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally and the top executive for North America, Mark Fields. Filling Nair's position will be Hau Thai-Tang, currently Executive Director, Global Product Programs. Kuzak, who holds a systems engineering doctorate and who in 2010 was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, began his career with Ford in 1978 as a research engineer.
