Safeball Technology offers Safeballs to reduce the risk of fuel-tank explosions. Featuring a diameter of 30 mm (1.2 in), Safeballs' spherical filling material completely fills the tank during manufacturing or can be blown-in aftermarket. The electrical conductivity of the material averts a static discharge inside the container, preventing the ignition of an electrostatic discharge from an explosive gas/air mixture. Safeballs reduce the evaporation of liquids in the tank and the release of hydrocarbons into the environment. They also add less than 8% volume and prevent the formation of fungi, bacteria, and algae in the tank. Safeball's shape allows an undisturbed flow and neutralizes the displacement of large amounts of liquids in road tankers.
