ThermoEnergy, Envirogen Ireland to target deicing fluids recovery market in Europe

  • 16-Nov-2011 10:34 EST

ThermoEnergy Corp., a supplier of wastewater recovery technology and systems, has teamed with Envirogen Ireland Ltd. to pursue European markets for the recovery and recycling of aircraft deicing fluids (ADF) from storm water. ThermoEnergy ADF Recovery Systems can be used to recover and concentrate propylene glycol from ADF sprayed on planes in winter weather. The system has a payback period of less than two years. Envirogen and ThermoEnergy are pursuing more than 100 potential opportunities where glycol management programs are being created at airports to reduce the effects of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in Europe's waterways. The companies expect these opportunities will result in substantial new business over the next few years.
