HED releases a 3-in (76-mm) CL-706 monochrome LCD display with 128 x 64 resolution. The display uses a solid-state microcontroller and is designed for use as a stand-alone unit or as part of a distributed system. A mechanism communicates messages to the end user inside the cab or externally on the vehicle. Other features include up to two CAN communication channels, an IP67 rating, and a temperature rating from -40 to +70°C (-40 to +158°F) with optional heater. As part of a distributed system, the display has the ability to handle seven additional inputs and three outputs, which can reduce vehicle dashboard wiring and complexity. An optional USB port permits direct connection to a PC service tool for system programming or diagnostic viewing.
