Open control platform

ETAS launches FlexECU, an open control system development platform to implement and test new control system concepts on production-intent electronic control unit (ECU) hardware. FlexECU consists of a Bosch diesel and spark ignition engine-based ECU; control software integration environment; and basic ECU software, including simple and complex I/O drivers. The system is a suitable solution for the limited availability of open, production-ready ECUs that facilitate development, implementation, and testing of new control concepts in the commercial vehicle industry. Scalable from one system to hundreds, FlexECU uses Bosch engine management software and fuel-injection technology and is suitable for the direct control of diesel or gasoline engines, hybrid-electric-vehicle supervisory control, transmission control, and additional vehicle subsystem controls.
